August is gone! ”ohhhh” and so remains a crowd from our blog readers, missing summer holidays. Don’t be sad! September is the month of renewal and news and the city is back with great events from another Lisboa na Rua 2017 edition. Carmina Burana

You have to write down in you agenda: 9th September at 9:30 p.m. is Carmina Burana. The magnificent opera by Carl Orff will be performed by Gulbenkian choir and orchestra and Children choir of the Gregoriano Institute of Lisbon. It will be magical in one of the biggest green areas in the city – the urban park of Vale do Silêncio in Olivais.

Dançar a Cidade

Let’s put shyness aside and learn some dancing steps! The Swing Station, Espaço Baião and Tradballas will put to dance the rhythms they know best: swing, forró and folk with free classes and then a ball dance. It will be fun at the end of the afternoon in Eduardo VII park. For those who prefer African rhythms you can go to Príncipe Real. Kizomba, Funaná Kola Sanjon and African tribal dances promise to warm up the afternoons. All events have Free Entrance!

Arroios Film Festival

Inclusion is the main theme of this Arroios Film Festival. Besides short-films in this festival you can also see other activities and long-films exhibits. The presented films are an authentic travel around the world: South Korea, Philippines, India, Iran, United States, Brazil, South Africa. Together they are 38 films on competition, without prejudice following themes about religion, politics and culture. The festival goes from 9th September to 16th September. Free Entrance.

A Arte da Big Band  – Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos

The Matosinhos Jazz Orchestra celebrates its 20 years with a concert at Largo da Ajuda on 23rd of September at 7 p.m.. It has the participation from the lead vocals of the band Clã, Manuela Azevedo. We will listen to several songs chosen by the singer and classical repertoire from North America, France and Brazil and songs from Clã as well.

Are you still missing the ”arraiais” of June? In September there is still party with fair, concerts and the smell of ”farturas”. The Feira da Luz in Carnide neighborhood has a long tradition and this year we will have music from Portuguese musicians such as Mia Rose, Amor Electro and Tiago Bettencourt. The fair will be until 24th of September. Free Entrance.

 

Open House Lisboa

Open House Lisboa presents to you guiding visits to places which normally aren’t opened to the public, important for their heritage and architecture values.
