On 14th July we did the presentation of a new tour. It is called (Re)live Lisbon and it will take you to downtown Lisbon, Mouraria and Chiado, bringing the memories of the elderly who have also contributed to this work.
We are pleased to announce a new tour released in our website! It is called (Re)live Lisbon and it is about sharing the city’s past through the memories of the elderly. On 14th July we presented a new tour in partnership with Associação Mais Proximidade Melhor Vida – AMPMV, an organization which gives social support to the elderly who live in downtown Lisbon and Mouraria. It is called (Re)live Lisbon and it is a moment of sharing memories of what the city was like many years ago, through the elderly testemonies.
(Re) live Lisbon tour has been developed for months within a project called ”Coordenadas – to Global Citizenship” with the aim of developing educational tours. This has given us the unique opportunity in working closer to the organization AMPMV, creating this new tour.
The local life was certainly more different than it is today, with lively street vendors announcing their arrival, the water carriers, the laundresses and the children plays. Subjects related to traditions, culture, religion, consumption habits are mentioned during the tour and tells you how much life has changed in the city throughout the years. Going to the cinema, theatre and even going to church were different social events. And time also tells us how much things have changed in people’s lives, mainly how they now buy and consume. It is a tour in which we share past memories to think deeply about our present and our future and mostly what we can learn from them.
On 14th July, we presented our tour for the first time and we had a nice surprise with participants with different ages. They were not simply viewers, but contributed with their own personal memories. It was an enriching moment of sharing that we will never forget. Thank you!
Just a quick reminder: If you book this tour, you will not only have a pleasant moment with us, but you will also contribute to a cause. Part of the money will go to the organization AMPMV.
