We have already suggested spending a night in a wine cask, in a luxurious tent, what else is there to awake the imagination concerning alternative trends in the hospitality industry?
As it happens, we have another suggestion to make: sleep in a bubble to see the stars. You can experience this in Serra da Malcata, in the region of Beira Baixa.
The rural tourism of Moinho de Maneio is located right at the entrance of Serra de Malcata, 8 km away from the town of Penamacor, the district of Castelo Branco.
The small enterprise is formed out of four schist houses in their natural surroundings and a bubble. That is right. A ’rounded-shaped tent permanently ballooned, with a double bed where you can have an unique experience’ with the ceiling and part of the wall transparent, explains Anabela Martins, the owner of the location. Her statement appears in the declarations made to Fugas.
To offer its visitors a once in a lifetime experience, the structure is well located: ‘the bubble is positioned on a platform, on a cliff, above the river side, almost in the canopy of the trees.’ To avoid that voyeurs, total privacy is guaranteed. The structures has as an addition ‘an ecological bathroom build in a wooden shelter.’ The guests of the bubble can use the ‘village’ bathroom, as well. And ask for breakfast.
All the property of Quinta do Maneio inspires tranquility. There is no internet in the houses, just in the main house, but limited. And there is no television. Soon it will have a big swimming pool, too.
‘We are a place in nature, for those who love nature, for those who believe to be part of it’, concludes Anabela Martins.
