The World Music Festival in Sines took place almost a month ago. Nonetheless, here we have a friend’s testimony which reveals his experience at the festival. Reference for next year’s festival, on behalf of Fora da Rota Tours

”I went, for the first time, with great expectations to the World Music Festival 2016. The WMF is already a classic among music festivals in Portugal, taking place since 1999, in the city of Sines and in the village of Porto Covo, as well. In Sines, the space and the castle, inside which there are a lot of concerts during the night, are both fantastic, with thousands of people attending the festival.
Like the name indicates, the forte of this festival is the multiple styles of music you can hear, from musicians coming from the four corners of the Earth. For a lot of people, the event represents a chance to discover new artists that do not belong to the mainstream trend. The weekend was full of rhythm and good music!

But the experience of going to this festival can be (and should be) more than just music. Because of its location, on the coast of Alentejo, I recommend you to visit the amazing beaches, not only in Sines and Porto Covo, but also in Vila Nova de Milfontes or Santo André, villages located at about 30 minutes from Sines. And try the excellent local gastronomy!
To sum it up, a visit to the World Music Festival is definitely an experience you cannot miss!”
