Here is an endless list of activities that will keep you on the move. Starting this Saturday, the 14th of May. Recommended event: Trampolim Gerador. Celebrating its 3rd edition, it will take place in the Mouraria neighbourhood.
Counting on about 100 artists and 60 cultural initiatives, the neighbourhood will welcome a bit of everything: concerts, gastronomy, shows, theatre plays, street art, dancing, photography exhibitions, guided tours, debates and a lot more. Free entrance to each activity. The aim is to ‘invade’ the public space, taking advantage of untapped and less known places, like abandoned buildings, cloisters of churches, hidden restaurants and main squares.
Gerador, a platform that helps disclose and organise events related to the Portuguese culture, is the responsible for the Trampolim event, which is at its 3rd edition. Apart from this experience, the platform is in charge of other initiatives such as performances in unique places like people’s homes, abandoned shops, taverns, garages, gardens or fields. All places make events possible.
The Gerador organises, as well, gatherings in the shape of debates. and it manages a trimestrial magazine. It also runs The Sketchbook Guide, a collection of guides in Portuguese and in English, drawn by an invited guest. More about this here.
Regarding Trampolim’s program, we highlight the presence of J.P. Simões on the staircases of Outeiro and theatre plays on the terrace of an obscure restaurant. As well as, workshops of African dancing and Risotto, real springboard in Largo da Severa and henna paintings in the Renovar a Mouraria Association.
